New Information for our members
Phil
Irwin has agreed to teach one more Boat Crew class for 11-04
and the classes are underway. He
may open it up to other division members so we can fill the class.
Jerry Frederick has made the recommendation, that members should
seek out a mentor, that way, if the class is running slower than
you'd like, they can accelerate their learning, or on the other side
make it more their speed.
Advanced Coastal Navigation (ACN) is being replaced with a new text called
"The Weekend Navigator" by Robert J. Sweet. The text has a greater
focus on electronic navigation. They are working to create Student
Study Guides, Instructor Guides, additional information on "charting
basics" charting problems and on-line and paper-based test question
databanks. The course should be available in late fall 2007.
There
is an update of Administrative Procedures Course (APC) On-Line
Exam. In an attempt to improve training for flotilla and division
level use, the existing on-line exam has been replaced with an
updated version. The revised APC on-line exam is now available on
the Exam Gateway. Members should access this on-line exam via the
current web pages and not attempt to re-use cached sites or
favorites.
FC Ron
Graves asked Phil Irwin to handle the FSO-MT position, until Jerry
Frederick is well enough to re-assume the duties. This is only a
temporary assignment for Phil Irwin.
